Wild Safari & Ocean in Kenya

FURTHER JOURNEYS IN KENYA  brown-arrow-right.png

Day 1 – Arrive Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met by our Red Savannah representative and chauffeured to Ololo Safari Lodge where your Kenya safari begins.

Ololo Lodge is located 45 minutes away from Nairobi’s airports and is situated right on the edge of Nairobi National Park. Its secluded location makes for good game viewing, and in particular excellent bird-watching, while back at the lodge you can relax in front of an open fire, or enjoy the views across the park from their library.

Overnight: Ololo Safari Lodge.

Day 2 - Nairobi – Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Transfer on your scheduled flight to the Lewa Wildlife Consernvancy. Your home for the next three nights is Sirikoi.

Built on private land, upon the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, Sirikoi is encircled by the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Hidden beneath acacia woodland and overlooking a natural watering hole, Sirikoi offers some of the most spectacular game viewing. The landscape includes the mountainous regions of Mount Kenya, open grasslands, indigenous forest and beautiful riverine valleys.

Overnight: Sirikoi.

Days 3 - 4  - Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Enjoy the day in the conservancy: take a picnic along on a bush walk, go horse-riding or maybe try a camel safari. Take a 15 minute helicopter flight to Mount Kenya or, for the ultimate flying safari experience, take a Waco biplane, based on the original 1920's model. Game viewing at Lewa is superb and is home to over 10% of Kenya's critically endangered black rhino population.

Overnight: Sirikoi.

Day 5 - Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – Masai Mara
Fly to the Masai Mara, where you will be met and driven to Richard's Camp. An isolated and intimate camp, nestled among African olive trees, Richard's Camp overlooks the open plains of the Masai Mara.

Overnight: Richard's Camp.

Days 6 - 7 - Masai Mara
Accompanied by the superb camp guides, you spend the morning and evenings on game drives observing the wildlife. Widely considered to be Africa's greatest wildlife reserve, the Masai Mara Game Reserve offers prime viewing of the Big Five: elephant, lion, rhinoceros, buffalo and leopard. This area annually accommodates over a million wildebeest and around 300,000 zebra in the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth, the Great Migration.

Other activities include picnics and bush meals, birding and scenic hikes, Masai cultural visits, and (with prior booking) game viewing by hot air balloon.

Overnight: Richard's Camp.

Day 8 - Nairobi - Zanzibar
Transfer by light aircraft to Nairobi and onto Zanzibar, the exotic island of spices. Upon Arrival you will be met and taken to Baraza Resort and Spa. Located on the east of the island, with stunning landscaped gardens and an immaculate beach, this is a tropical paradise.

Overnight: Baraza Resort and Spa.

Days 9 – 12 - Zanzibar
Enjoy four days exploring coastal Zanzibar. Try dhow cruising, fishing, scuba diving, Kite Surfing or snorkelling. The coral reefs are also some of the most pristine in the Indian Ocean. Alternatively take a day trip to the wonderful capital of Stone Town, tour a spice garden, or head to the forests in search of the Red Colobus Monkey.

Overnight: Baraza Resort and Spa.

Day 13 - Depart
After breakfast you will be driven to Zanzibar Airport where you will be flown to Nairobi in time to catch your onward international flight home.

From £8,395 / $9,790 per person for land arrangements only, based on two people sharing a room.
