The surroundings at Vabbinfaru are conducive to hours - if
not days - of R&R: fine white sand beaches, tepid waters,
obliging staff and delightful private villas with pool-side salas;
but there is a host of facilities and activities including an
excellent spa, first rate dive and watersports centre, Marine
Biology Lab, fitness centre, gallery and restaurants to keep you
occupied. The resort is on the smaller side and has a romantic,
understated feel, with plenty of room for indulgence as well as the
option to get involved with various conservation
The 43 shell-shaped, thatch-roof villas at
Vabbinfaru are particularly appealing to couples and families
seeking privacy, thanks to four poster beds, twin bathrooms, and
private gardens with sun deck, plunge pool and jet pool. Décor is
airy and contemporary, with white draped fabrics and large windows
to let in the sunlight. Some of the villas have direct beach access
and salas that are elevated over the sea, while others enjoy
outdoor showers and alfresco dining areas.
Modern luxury meets conservation.
Vabbinfaru is lovely for self-sufficient families.Though there
is no children's club at the resort, there are quite a few
child-friendly activities on offer, including the chance to learn
about the conservation work being carried out by the island's
resident biologists, which includes turtle and stingray feeding.
There is also a range of watersports including always fun banana
boat rides. Expert diving instruction is open to children over the
age of eight, while younger children can enjoy catamaran and dhow
outings to explore marine life which may include dolphins. There is
also the chance to enjoy quality time over delicious meals thanks
to the resort's private and in-villa dining opportunities, as well
as learning about Maldivian culture at the Bodu Beru night of live
music and dancing.
FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS
Weddings at Vabbinfaru make the most of the
beautiful natural setting. You can say or renew your vows on the
beach at sunset - when it is perhaps at its most beautiful - on a
deserted sandbank, or even underwater in Velavaru Lagoon. After
your big day, there are many other romantic experiences to enjoy
together, including dhoni sailing, cookery classes, romantic beach
barbecues and couples' massages. Please speak with us for more
information on packages.
The Maldives is a stunning natural environment
and at Vabbinfaru luxury and pampering don't come at the expense of
that: you can rest assured that Vabbinfaru's impact is a positive
one, and can be as involved - or not - as you wish. The villas here
prove particularly difficult to drag yourself away from thanks to
lovely private gardens with pools, but I highly recommend taking a
boat across to a deserted sandbank for the ultimate castaway dinner
of barbecued lobster under the stars.
Idyllic seclusion with an emphasis on conservation.
