FURTHER JOURNEYS IN BOTSWANA brown-arrow-right.png

Day 1 - Arrive in the Okavango Delta
On arrival in Johannesburg you will be met by our Red Savannah representative, who will assist you with your onward flight to Maun (approximately 2 hours). Your guide will be waiting to welcome you on the other side; and once your group has assembled you will be flown by light aircraft to Nxabega Airstrip, where a safari vehicle will be waiting to drive you to your campsite deep within the Okavango Delta. The comfortable domed tents have private bathrooms with en suites and alfresco bucket showers, and there is a communal dining area.

The invaluable waters of the Kalahari's Okavango draw a wonderful array of wildlife including prolific birdlife and water-adapted species such as Pel's fishing owl, shy sitatunga and red lechwe. Big game includes elephant, buffalo, hippo and cats including lions, leopards and cheetah. Occasionally rare African wild dogs are also seen.

Overnight: Private Mobile Camp

Day 2 - Okavango Delta
Your campsite will be perfectly positioned for exploring by jeep, on foot, or in mokoro (dug-out canoe). The maze of channels and lagoons shelters colourful kingfishers, Technicolour frogs, elegant dragonflies and wallowing hippos to name just a few, while the floodplain is the stage for safari stars including big cats, antelope and elephants.

Overnight: Private Mobile Camp

Days 3 - 4 - Moremi Wildlife Reserve
A short hop by light aircraft will transport you to the Khwai concession of Moremi Wildlife Reserve, where your atmospheric and rustic mobile safari camp will be waiting.

Your two night stay in Moremi will immerse you in a beautiful landscape of forests, islands, lagoons and grassland, where the wildlife viewing is some of the best in the world. Resident species include big cats - leopard, lion and cheetah - as well as graceful antelope, herds of elephant, zebra and the elusive African wild dog.

Overnight: Private Mobile Camp

Days 5 - 6 - Chobe National Park
The long journey to Chobe (5 - 6 hours) will be a wonderful extended game drive, as your path takes you through a changing landscape that shelters many species. You will arrive at your mobile camp in the Savute region of Chobe early afternoon, allowing time for you to settle in and enjoy refreshments before heading out to explore.

Savute features vast savannah grasslands and mopane forests, and is known for its excellent predator viewing - including lions. The Savute Channel has recently started flowing again for the first time in decades, drawing various animals and further adding to the drama.

Overnight: Private Mobile Camp

Days 7 - 8 - Northern Chobe
Your group will move north from Savute to the heart of elephant country (4 - 5 hours). The next two nights will be spent camping within a beautiful landscape in which it is not uncommon to see hundreds of elephants on the floodplains of the Chobe River. It is possible to while away hours watching these magnificent and fascinating animals in their natural habitat, but your game drives and private boat journeys will undoubtedly reveal a great variety of bird and animal life - not to mention some of Africa's most splendid sunsets.

Overnight: Private Mobile Camp

Days 9 - 10 - Victoria Falls
You will be driven across the border into Zimbabwe to meet your guide for the last two days of your adventure. Your base will be the luxurious Elephant Camp, which has commanding views over the floodplain of the Masuwe River, the spray of Victoria Falls, and the gorges between Zimbabwe and Zambia. There you can stay in the lap of luxury, without giving up your canvas tent.

Mosi-oa-Tunya -' The Smoke That Thunders' - is one of the Wonders of the Natural World. The falls are a staggering spectacle, and the surrounding area provides boundless opportunities for adventure, including white water rafting and bungee jumping as well as more serene river cruises and safari outings. Your time here can be as adventurous or as relaxed as you please, but don't miss an elephant interaction at Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary or a sun downer atop one of the magnificent gorges, listening to the sound of the gushing Zambezi River beneath.

Overnight: The Elephant Camp

Day 11 - Fly home
After your final delicious breakfast at The Elephant Camp, you will be driven to the airport Victoria Falls airport for your flight home via Johannesburg.
