A Beach Retreat to Mozambique

FURTHER JOURNEYS IN MOZAMBIQUE  brown-arrow-right.png

Day 1 - Arrive in Mozambique
Arrive into Johannesburg International Airport and then on to Maputo Airport. From here you will be transferred by fixed-wing plane and 4x4 to White Pearl Resort. The resort is located on a 2km stretch of pristine coastline, close to the border with South Africa. Inland and to the west is the Maputo Elephant Reserve, which is working hard to increase the elephant population following extensive poaching in the area prior to the 1990's.

After a warm welcome you'll be whisked off in a golf cart to your private suite. Twenty-one luxurious suites have been equipped to the highest standard and decorated in soft hues to complement the natural setting. Six of the suites are located directly on the beach with their own private pool. The remainder of the suites can be found further up the dunes on stilts and enjoy panoramic views and their own private plunge pools. All suites are further enhanced by a private deck with outdoor shower, king-size beds, satellite TV, WiFi connectivity and air-conditioning.

Day 2 - 7 - Relax at the White Pearl Resort
Sip a fresh cocktail and relax on your lounger poolside whilst you contemplate how to spend your coming days. White Pearl has a laid back yet chic approach and focuses on relaxation, whilst also offering an array of activities to explore the bountiful wildlife and nature of this region.

The highlight is undoubtedly the resorts 'Ocean Safari' where you'll have the chance to snorkel with dolphins and spot the humpback whales during their annual seasonal migration. Experienced diving instructors can take you to a variety of dive spots to explore the fascinating underwater world. Both beginners and keen divers are catered for and they also offer PADI Resort courses. Exhilarating beach and bush rides are available for all ages and abilities. Or for those seeking a slower pace there are spa treatments, star gazing with their in-house Galactic Guide, witnessing the Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles lay their eggs (between November and February) and breath-taking coastal walks.

Dining is an indulgent experience at the White Pearl Resort and their rustic tapas served in the Beach Bar is not to be missed. The White Pearl Restaurant hosts the freshest of breakfasts, light lunches and candlelit dinners in the most romantic of settings. Throughout the day the Pool Deck is a great spot for refreshments with oversized loungers and open ocean views. If you can't pull yourself away from the beach you could always have the treats come to you - a luxury picnic hamper can be filled with delicious food and drink with a Mozambique flavour. This resort also takes its wine collection seriously with over 600 bottles on offer, so there's always the perfect wine pairing to your meal. Return each evening to the Beach Bar to unwind in relaxed surroundings.
