Day 1 - Arrive Pemba
On arrival into Pemba transfer to your hotel where you will stay for one night.

Overnight:  Residencial Reggio Emilia, Pemba - Bed & Breakfast

Day 2 - Fly to Ibo Island
A beautiful light aircraft flight over the islands and turquoise waters transfers you from Pemba International Airport to Ibo Island Lodge. Ibo's 200-year-old ghost town and 16th Century forts make for an amazing journey to an era long forgotten which is probably the most fascinating attraction in the Quirimbas. The Ibo Island guided experience (included) provides a chance to interact with the remarkably friendly local people and observe their unique island culture and heritage and a way of life that has remained the same for hundreds of years. Explore the mysterious ruins amongst forts and ancient trade buildings with captivating stories just waiting to be told.

Day 3 - Dhow Safari
Depart Ibo Island for your dhow adventure in the Quirimbas Archipelago with the clearest of blue water and pristine corals below to explore under snorkel. Sail into the Ulumbwa river mouth where fascinating rural fishing villages dot the shore.

Overnight:  Ulumbwa Island Mobile Camp - All Meals Included

Day 4 - Dhow Safari

Clear waters and beautiful scenery awaits you on an early morning sail up the Ulumbwa estuary viewing a variety of birds & mangroves. In the afternoon, take a tour through the fishing village getting to know the way of living of the inhabitants as interpreted by your knowledgeable guide.

Day 5 - Dhow Safari
Mogundula Island is probably one of the most stunning islands in the archipelago giving you a perfect base from which to go bird watching, pristine swimming off the sandbank beach and excellent snorkelling. You usually have this uninhabited island (which is known by the locals as the island with the sacred lake) to yourself!

Overnight:  Mogundula Island Mobile Camp - Full Board

Day 6 - Dhow Safari
Go on a day trip to the Pangane Peninsula and/or Macaloe Island.

Overnight:  Mogundula Island Mobile Camp - All Meals Included

Day 7 - Ibo Island
Transfer from Ulumbwa to Ibo Island where you will stay for the next three nights. At Ibo Island Lodge, it is difficult to choose between being whisked to a deserted sandbank beach or snorkelling amongst dolphins.

Overnight:  Ibo Island Lodge - Full Board

Day 8 - Ibo Island
Learn more about the island's unique culture and heritage and experience Ibo's oceanic wonderland. Diving spots in the region offer shallow sites for the casual diver, and dramatic drops for the more serious.

Overnight:  Ibo Island Lodge - Full Board

Day 9 - Ibo Island
Kayak through the largest mangrove forest in Africa; catch a fish; catch a tan; or simply lie back, soak up the tropical atmosphere by one of the pools or refresh your senses with traditional massage treatments.

Day 10 - Flight Home
Today you are transferred by light aircraft to Pemba Airport. On arrival, connect with your onward flight to Dar es Salaam from where you continue onto London Heathrow via Doha.
