Day 1 - Cape Town
Arrive Cape Town, where you will be met at the door of your
aircraft by your Red Savannah representative and your documents
handed over to you. After clearing customs, immigration and baggage
collection you will be shown to your awaiting transfer vehicle
before being driven to Cellars-Hohenort.
Spend the afternoon at leisure enjoying your guided tour of Cape
Town including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain
(weather permitting), followed by a private two-hour historic tour
of the V&A Waterfront. Should time allow you may wish to visit
the Waterfront Food Market, packed to the brim with the freshest
produce - a great introduction to the Cape's culinary delights.
The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel is an elegant boutique hotel,
situated in the heart of the Constantia Valley on the eastern
slopes of Table Mountain. This haven of peace and tranquillity
features three heated swimming pools, a tennis court and a custom
made putting and chipping green as well as the popular D&D Spa.
The accommodation consists of 55 traditional, contemporary styled
rooms, the three-bedroomed Madiba Villa and the spacious Dove Cote,
an ideal suite for honeymooners, with its own garden, large dining
and sitting room as well as a private heated Jacuzzi.
Day 2 - Bo Kaap - Cooking & City Walking
This morning you will head to Malay Quarter where you will begin
your walking tour of the city. Here you will experience a variety
of cultures and traditional food from the area. A highlight
of the morning includes a cooking experience in the home of one of
the Malay ladies, where you will be taught to make roti's, samosas
and a traditional Cape Malay curry.
After a delicious lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the city.
Highlights include visits to the Cape Castle, South Africa's oldest
building, a stroll around the Company Gardens in the heart of the
city, and an excursion to Greenmarket Square, where you can enjoy
the daily craft market.
In the evening make your way to the Old Biscuit Mill in
Woodstock for a tantalising treat at renowned Chef Luke Dale
Robert's Test Kitchen. Having honed his considerable skills in some
of the most renowned kitchens in the world, since coming to Cape
Town, Luke has consistently proven his mettle with a string of
awards and accolades The Test Kitchen sees the chef cooking his
distinctive style of cuisine in an intimate space that also
delights design aficionados.
Day 3 - Cape Town
This morning you will be shown around the spectacular
Cellars-Hohenort Gardens, widely regarded as one of the finest
privately owned gardens in the world. Following on from your garden
tour, you will be driven to Constantia, the birthplace of the wine
farming industry in South Africa. Here you will visit the wine farm
of the first Governor of the Cape, Simon Van Der Stel, a chance to
sample one of the region's most famous wines - The Vin de
Constance. Other highlights include: a tour of the Cloete Cellar at
Groot Contantia, dating back to 1791 and lunch at the award winning
Steenberg estate (lunch for own account) followed by afternoon wine
tasting. In the evening, return to Cellars Hohenort for the
Day 4 - Cape Point and Peninsular Tour (with
This morning you will begin your guided Cape Point and Peninsular
tour. Your will start at the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay and
then cross over to Hout bay, where you will have the opportunity to
take a short cruise to Seal Island to see the breeding colony of
Cape Fur Seals. Continuing you will drive to the Cape of Good Hope
National Park via Chapman's Peak, where you can enjoy a cable car
ride offering spectacular views over False Bay.
For lunch enjoy the extra-special, once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity: Five course lunch at The Flagship, Celebrity
chef Bruce Robertson's personal home! (This is mainly a seafood
lunch so please specify your dietary requirements). Renowned to be
one of the top chefs in South Africa, Bruce Robertson has worked in
some of the finest establishments under some of the most prominent
names in the culinary world including: The London Ritz,
Lanesborough on Hyde Park corner followed by Petrus with Marcus
Wareing and Gordon Ramsey, finishing his international "education"
at the world famous Belfry in Belgravia, under Chef Anton
Mosiman. In the afternoon return to Cape Town via the world
famous Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Day 5 - Classic Cape Cuisine Walk StellenBosch &
Franschhoek Wine Tasting (with lunch)
Today you will head to the Winelands, approximately 60 minutes'
drive from Cape Town. Here you will join your culinary guide as she
leads you through the historic centre of Stellenbosch, with the
opportunity to try some traditional cape food such as biltong,
Bobotie, Koeksisters and melktert. After a sumptuous lunch at the
oldest hotel in the country, you will spend the afternoon at
leisure exploring Franschhoek and the surrounding Winelands. Relish
the opportunity to visit some of the most prestigious wine estates
in South Africa whilst soaking up the rich Cape Dutch architecture,
the interesting history and the sheer beauty of the region.
Your accommodation for the evening is the beautifully preserved
Babylonstoren. This 250 acre working farm is one of the oldest Cape
Dutch farms in the area. Highlights whilst at Babylonstoren
include: wine tasting and learning about the wine making process,
Babel restaurant - serving the freshest and healthiest food, using
ingredients directly out of the garden and the unusual and
stylishly converted farm reservoir (swimming pool).
Day 6 - Winelands, Chocolate, Cheese &
Spend the morning on a guided tour of the pristine Babylonstoren
garden. Try some of the 300 edible plant species before exploring
the 15 different areas of the garden, featuring vegetable areas,
berries, bees, indigenous plants, ducks and chickens as well as a
prickly pear maze. Lunch is served at the Pierneef Restaurant
before continuing on a series of cheese, chocolate, olives and
olive oil tastings in the Franschhoek Valley. Return to your hotel
late afternoon where dinner will be at your leisure.
Day 7 - Wine Tasting in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on
route to Hermanus
Spend the day exploring the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in the Overberg.
Offering a wide range of award-winning wine cellars, restaurants
and picnic sites. Enjoy wine tasting at La Vierge, Bouchard
Finlayson and Hamilton Russell wine estates before ending your
journey in Hermanus. After a delicious lunch at Birkenhead House
you will join your guide, who will take you along the famous cliff
top walk with spectacular view over Walker Bay. In whale season
(June-November) you can spot the Southern Right Whales as they come
close to shore to feed and teach their youngsters before returning
to the deep ocean for the summer months.

Day 8 - Depart - Private Transfer
Today you will depart Birkenhead House and head to Cape Town
International Airport in time to catch your onward international
