FURTHER JOURNEYS IN THAILAND  brown-arrow-right.png

Day 1 - Arrive Bangkok
Arrive at Bangkok airport and transfer by private chauffeur to your hotel in the city.

In one of the most exciting, fast-moving cities in Asia, Banyan Tree Bangkok offers a haven with elegant contemporary rooms, a luxurious award-winning spa and fine dining at altitude at Vertigo & Moon Bar.

Overnight: Banyan Tree Bangkok

Days 2 - Bangkok
Enjoy the morning with a private guide exploring Thailand's capital. Visit the reclining Buddha and hear the chanting of monks at the temple of Wat Pho. Explore the Grand Palace, one of the city's most impressive sights. The palace dates back some 200 years and comprises over 100 buildings and temples. The afternoons are at leisure to explore at your own pace.

During the evening, enjoy some of the region's celebrated gastronomy.  If you can tear yourself away from the restaurants at Banyan Tree Bangkok, we recommend the ultra-chic Sirocco, the highest al fresco rooftop restaurant in the world with Bangkok by night as your backdrop.   Banyan Tree Bangkok is renowned as offering some of the best gastronomy experiences in the city - including the nouvelle Cantonese restaurant, Bai Yun, Sake and Teppanyaki at Taihei, modern seafood at Pier59, contemporary Thai at Saffron and international cuisine at Romsai.

Overnight: Banyan Tree Bangkok

Day 3 - Bangkok
This morning, visit the Kha Market and Amphawa. It is just an hour south of Bangkok to Samut Songkhram province. First we stop at an amazing country market along the railway tracks then we visit Tha Kha, one of the many floating markets in the area. We take a fascinating paddleboat journey through the klongs and stop to enjoy a glass of coconut sugar syrup with a local family. En-route to our last visit we see a Buddhist temple before arriving at Rama II Park with its Thai style Pavilion Museum. (Tha Kha Market is held every Saturday and Sunday.  During the weekdays, the market day is subject to lunar cycle calendar; however visits operates on daily basis).

Don't miss an evening dining at the hotel's impressive Vertigo Restaurant followed by drinks under the stars at the Moon Bar.

Day 4 - Bangkok - Phuket
Depart this morning for your onward journey to Phuket. Upon arrival, transfer to Angsana Laguna Phuket. Located on the shores of Bang Tao Bayon Phuket Island, Angsana Laguna Phuket is contemporary in style with touches of traditional Thai design, such as the tall elegant roofs and the colourful fabrics of the interior décor.

There is a range of room categories to suit most requirements. For families, we recommend the Laguna Premier Room which sleeps two adults and two children aged under 8 years in a large open plan room with king bed and sofa beds in the living area. The large floor to ceiling window doors open onto a private furnished balcony with lagoon views. Alternatively upgrade to a more specious 2 Bedroom Loft room, a 2 storey room with good sized living room on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the upper storey.

The Angsana One-Bedroom Loft is the perfect choice for couples. Delightfully private, these two storey rooms sit over the water and have private jetties and outdoor soaking tub.

Days 5 - 9  - Phuket
Enjoy five full days of activity or relaxation at the resort and venture a little further if you wish.

Children are well catered for here. The Tree House Kid's Club provides activity, entertainment and even a bit of education between 9am and 9pm every day. There are three outdoor playgrounds, a library, art & craft centre, Internet/video corner and a Kid's Café. Choose from activities such as Pirates of Andaman, Olympic Games or Thai Dancing. There are even two resident elephants who make daily visits. Parents are welcome to join in but are equally free to leave children under the watchful eye of professional childcare staff.

There are active pursuits aplenty, both land and water based. On the ocean choose from windsailing, diving, snorkelling, lagoon kayaking or stay on land and enjoy a game of tennis, go mountain biking or take a short walk to the golf course to enjoy a round. Most of the resort based activities are complimentary.

The Angsana Spa Laguna Phuket is situated next to the lagoon and offers a range of treatments by professionally trained therapists. Try the Rainmist Indulgence which includes an orange honey body polish, pumpkin & rice body conditioner, 60-minute body massage and rain mist experiences.

Should you wish to venture further, take a boat trip out to the Similan or Phi Phi Islands, or Phang Nga Bay with its famous James Bond Island.

A range of dining options is on offer; Market Place serves Asian-fusion cuisines as well as international, visit the oceanfront Baan Talay for seafood and traditional Thai or the Bodega & Grill for Italian and Mediterranean dining. Enjoy cocktails at the Loy Krathong Bar or hang out at the lively XANA Beach Club, open all day and warming up in the evening with DJ sessions.
