A Beach Retreat in Vietnam
FURTHER JOURNEYS IN VIETNAM
Day 1 - Arrive Central Vietnam
Upon arrival at Danang Airport, transfer to Banyan Tree Lᾰng Cô on the central coast. The resort is situated close to the Lᾰng Cô bay, noted for its white beaches backed by mountain peaks and tropical jungle. World famous UNESCO Heritage sites Hue, Hoi An and My Son are within easy reach for those seeking culture to compliment a beach sanctuary.
This boutique spa retreat takes the traditional garden houses of Hue as its inspiration with a contemporary twist. The all pool-villa accommodation features clay pitched roofs, open courtyards and wood rafter ceilings, with latticework inspired by the imperial citadel of Hue.
Choose between a Lagoon Pool Villa where your private garden includes a swimming pool and views over the calm lagoon, or a Beach Pool Villa whose garden stretches down to a pristine white sandy beach. Both offer a private terrace and sundeck and are perfect for couples seeking an intimate retreat.
Overnight: Banyan Tree Lᾰng Cô
Days 2 - 7 - South Central Coast
Enjoy exploring the local area whilst finding time to unwind in your exclusive pool villa.
Facilities at the hotel include a gymnasium and Yoga, a watersports centre offering sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and diving, the Laguna Lᾰng Cô Golf Course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo as well as Banyan Tree Spa to rejuvenate your senses with Asia-inspired therapies.
Should you wish to venture further, the pretty coastal town of Hoi An is an hour and a half south. The ancient heart of the town beautifully preserves its 15th - 19th century appearance, though its origins go back even further. It's worth spending a day exploring to see the Japanese Bridge & pagoda, the fish market, the numerous galleries selling lacquered paintings and the various tailors who create bespoke outfits to your specification.
The ancient citadel of Hue is approximately an hour and a half north of Lᾰng Cô. Hue has a most turbulent and fascinating history from its ancient dynastic heritage to the turmoils of the late twentieth century. Various important monuments sit within and close to Hue, the most significant being the ancient citadel which formed the seat of the Nguyen emperors.
Travel about an hour and a half south of Lᾰng Cô to visit one of Vietnam's most important historical sites at My Son. My Son is a cluster of ancient temples dedicated to the Hindu god, Shiva, created between the 4th and 14th centuries by Champa kings.
Enjoy your evenings dining at Lᾰng Cô. Banyan Tree Lᾰng Cô. has a number of dining options, including private 'Destination Dining' experiences - enjoy a romantic dinner à deux in the privacy of your villa or on the beach. Alternatively, casual Azura serves Italian and seafood, Saffron combines traditional Thai with a modern twist in a beautiful hilltop location and The Watercourt serves French cuisine with hints of Vietnamese in a brasserie with a show kitchen.
