Villa Pantanelli

Pienza, 9 Bedrooms - Sleeps 18 + 1

Villa Pantanelli has as its backdrop the stunningly beautiful Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004, characterised by gently undulating hills and towering cypresses and historic towns and villages. The 15th century architectural gem of Pienza, also noted for its pecorino cheese farms, sits close by, as do the fine wine towns of Montalcino, famous for its Brunello wines, and Montepulciano, of Vino Nobile fame.

Villa Pantanelli is one of our most unusual Tuscan villas - at once traditionally Tuscan with stone and brickwork walls, but with a distinctly contemporary twist with regards to its furnishings and artwork. It's an eclectic style which few properties carry off with such panache.

See below for details or contact Charlie Stephenson to check availability on +44 (0)1242 787 810.

Villa Pantanelli is a beautifully designed hilltop villa, with expansive terraces, patios, a roofed dining area and pergolas designed to take in the 360°s of glorious surroundings. It comes with staff to clean and prepare breakfast and there are some fabulous cooking and shopping services on offer.

Put together your holiday villa wish list and you might just find all the features here. The bedrooms are air conditioned, but as a matter of principle not the living area, because the hill top position genuinely gets a cooling breeze and the airflow through the ground floor has been carefully considered. There is a wonderful flow to the beautifully designed ground floor living area from living space across hallway to kitchen. The design combines hill top rustic with modern designer living - 4 poster beds are elegant, but not all traditional looking, there are angle poise lamps, modern chairs and BTC pendant lights. The ground floor has two living room areas with huge picture windows and lovely open fireplaces. The house is efficient and considerate of energy usage, with solar panels installed for heating the pool to a natural feeling 28/30°C in summer and 24-26°C in the mid seasons, with back-up boiler for those wanting a warmer bathing experience.

The overall effect is modern living in an ancient and beautiful landscape with easy access to some of the most historic towns of Tuscany such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico.

Why we like it: An amazing juxtaposition of modern villa living with ancient Tuscany creates a chic villa experience in one of the most popular areas of Tuscany to explore. It's unusual to find good quality rental properties so close to Pienza, one of the most beautiful Renaissance towns of Tuscany. Those that get to know the Val d'Orcia fall in love with it and for wine lovers it's a 'must explore' area.
