With its clean lines and white interiors, The Ocean Spa Lodge brings a chic, fresh look to the south Kenyan coastline. If you like a healthy edge to your indulgent beach break then this should provide the perfect solution.
LOCATION
Msambweni Beach remains something of a hidden gem, nestling quietly to the south of its busier neighbour, Diani. Four kilometres of pristine white sand await you, lapped by clear, warm Indian Ocean waters. The lodge sits right on the beach with ocean views from every bedroom.
ACCOMMODATION
The 14 suites are spacious, air-conditioned and all have walk-in showers, separate living areas and a private verandah or portico. Some are family suites with an additional bedroom for children.
Much of the furniture throughout the lodge has been hand-crafted by local artisans the walls are adorned by local African art.
FOOD & DRINK
The a la carte restaurant serves healthy and beautifully prepared dishes created from locally-grown produce and freshly-caught seafood daily. The presentation is utterly exquisite and sets new standards for Kenyan coastal properties. Dine overlooking the ocean while enjoying a cooling sea breeze in the open-sided restaurant, which is as effortlessly stylish as the rest of the resort.
FACILITIES
As you would imagine, the spa is the main feature of the lodge and is an impressive oasis of pampering and fitness facilities. The spa is operated in collaboration with a well-known Italian spa brand, from the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees & Spa in Stresa. In addition to the treatment and massage rooms guests can take advantage of the yoga and fitness studio and the Water Wellness Circuit, which incorporates Rain Forest Emotional Showers, Hydro-Massage Pool and a Kneipp Circuit. This goes far beyond the offerings in most African beach lodges.
There’s also an expansive, curving outdoor swimming pool, cinema lounge, library, bar and water sports centre with equipment for a range of marine activities.
