ACCOMMODATION
Kamalame Cay offer 27 custom-built Bahamian-style Cottages, Villas and Bungalows, surrounded by coconut palms, hibiscus and bougainvillea. Sleeping from two to eight, each has a sea view while inside the décor is beach rustic meets colonial chic. The Villas are particularly spacious, with wide covered verandas and large gardens rolling down to the shore. Perfectly capturing the spirit of Kamalame Cay is a two-bedroom Villa called Rose Apple, with vaulted ceilings and east and west-facing elevated decks that offer panoramic views and spectacular sunsets.
FOR FAMILIES
Kamalame Cay is an exceptional resort for families of all ages. While there is no dedicated kids’ club, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities, from hermit crab races to nature walks and scavenger hunts. The fun begins at the arrival dock where kids might be lucky enough to spot a manatee. It continues when they discover the freshly made cookies waiting in their room. Children old enough to snorkel will enjoy the kaleidoscope of exotic fish; younger children can keep an eye out for whales and dolphins, not to mention the flamingos, hummingbirds and rare Bahamian parrots that thrive on neighbouring Andros Island. Babysitting is available on request.
FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS
Kamalame’s expert staff will help you plan every detail of your special day, with a ceremony on the beach or perhaps on the pretty wooden pier over the turquoise water. When you want to be alone the resort’s three miles of private beach will ensure that you are. Alternatively, you can order up a picnic and play Robinson Crusoe for the day on a nearby deserted island. Spend lazy afternoons in a hammock, enjoy a massage in the overwater spa, or hide away in your beach house surrounded by hibiscus, frangipani and ginger-lily. In the evening, share an intimate dinner for two on the beach or have your bath butler draw a candlelight bath infused with essential oils and petals.
