The Capri Palace is, unsurprisingly, the glamourous choice for a health holiday in Italy.
TREATMENTS AND ACTIVITIES
A team of 30 practitioners including doctors, therapists, beauticians, dieticians, chefs and hospitality managers deliver tailored plans designed to promote weight loss, anti-aging and detoxification.
Don't come here to avoid all temptation but do come for the hotel's world-famous Leg School, developed by Dr Francesco Canonico. This is the Capri Beauty Farm's signature treatment and the A-list apparently swear by it - both Liz Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow are ardent fans. Dr Canonico developed the treatment as a way of treating cellulite, varicose veins and other leg problems over the course of a seven-day plan during which you have daily mud wraps, cold bandaging, Kneipp baths, ice massage and lymphatic drainage (all taking about 3hrs a day) plus dietary and exercise advice. We dare you not to come away with gleaming pins.
It doesn't stop there though as the spa offers a huge array of treatments in 20 private rooms as well as an indoor pool and well-equipped gym with dedicated personal trainers.
There are only 60 rooms and suites so guests have a lot of space to move around in, including the large outdoor pool, whose underwater windows you pass as you enter the hotel. It's all very James Bond.
Choose from Michelin-starred L'Olivio or the poolside Bistro Ragu but you must also make at least one visit to fun and buzzing Il Riccio for lunch overlooking the sea and only 10 minutes away by hotel shuttle. The Bar degli Artisti is perfect for a cocktail to kick off your evening.
