  2. Day 1 Arrive Quito 

    Take an early brunch on arrival in Quito. This afternoon, enjoy a relaxed orientation and historical commentary in the colonial Old City whilst you adjust to the altitude.

  3. Day 2 Quito

    Take an in depth cultural tour of Quito, which extends along the length of a valley at the foot of Pichincha volcano.

  4. Day 3 Otavalo

    Travel north out of Quito, crossing the equator, through a patchwork of rural villages, smallholdings and agricultural land tended by the Otavalo Indians. Visit the colourful and vibrant market bursting with the typical greens and purples of the Andes. With an excellent array of textiles, handicrafts and ceramics, Otavalo is one of the best markets for sheer volume and variety in South America. Enjoy early evening in the fragrant gardens of the 17th century hacienda before dinner.

  5. Day 4 Otavalo

    Enjoy a free day at the hacienda and time to explore the local vicinity on mountain bikes, ride or take gentle strolls through the fields and villages. There are trails to follow independently with directions. It is a beautiful and very peaceful rural landscape.

  6. Day 5 Cotacachi Cayapas Reserve 

    Explore the region further on a three hour guided hike at the Cotacachi Cayapas reserve where there are incredible views of the surrounding volcanoes (Imbabura and Cuicocha). Stop at the colonial town of Cotacachi before heading back to Quito.

  7. Day 6 Galapagos Islands

    Take a flight to the airport on Baltra in the Galapagos archipelago from where you'll take a smaller plane to the island of Isabela. This afternoon, visit the small Tintoreras Islands to view white-tipped reef sharks, sea lions, turtles, rays and penguins. Snorkelling may also be possible in the clear waters.

  8. Day 7 Galapagos Islands

    Take a challenging hike to the Sierra Negra, the largest crater of all the Galapagos volcanoes. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the volatile geology of the islands with a backdrop of wonderful views across the largest island of the archipelago.

  9. Day 8 Galapagos Islands

    Take a full day to 'Los Tuneles', a natural formation of lava flow that with time has collapsed and re-formed. Thre will be further opportunity to snorkel in the pristine waters in search of sea turtle and an array of fish including rays. Take an afternoon walk through a Wetlands Trail through the mangroves and Iguana colonies.

  10. Day 9 Guayaquil

    Take a flight back to the main airport on the islands at Baltra for the flight back to Guayaquil on the mainland.

  11. Day 10 Depart

    Depart for your international flight home.
