Day 1 - Arrive Himalayas
Arrive in the foothills of the Himalayas at Ananda, close to the pilgrimage city of Haridwar and the 'gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas', Rishikesh. Blissfully tranquil, Ananda looks out over the mountains and the Ganga river valley.
Check in at Ananda. Accommodation includes spacious rooms, Garden, Ananda or the Viceregal Suite and one and two bedroom villas with pools. All have either a private balcony or garden.
Days 2 - 7 - Himalayas
Enjoy six full days of restorative well-being at Ananda. The spa at Ananda measures some 24,000 square feet and provides over 80 treatments combining traditional Indian and contemporary international therapies, with a focus on Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedanta. Treatments are personalised based on individual goals and include detox programmes, relaxation, de-stress and anti-aging therapies. Programmes include:
Personal goals are fulfilled through massage and individual dietary plans. Qualified therapists identify your unique combination of doshas and determine a programme of diet, massage, exercise and therapy to restore balance and energy.
Yoga & Meditation:
Bihar Yoga, sometimes known as Satyananda Yoga, is practiced at Ananda and supervised by professional teachers. Various meditation techniques are taught to release emotional tension and to develop concentration and willpower according to your own goals.
Various international treatments are offered at the spa, including massage, exfoliation & wrap, hydrotherapy, Tibetan treatments, facial experiences utilising crystals, oils and other natural substances.
Energy is rebalanced through healing therapies including Reiki, Reflexology, Hopi Ear Candling, Chakradhara and Crystal Therapy.
Other activities at Ananda include Vedanta lectures, cooking classes, white water rafting, bird watching, trekking and nature walks, There is also a six hole golf course.
Dining is based on Ayurvedic principles, with individual menus based on identification of body type (Vata, Pitti and Kapha). Cuisine is naturally low fat with no artificial ingredients. Guests may dine in the Restaurant accompanied by relaxing classical music, on the Tree Top Deck or the Pavilion or privately in their room suite or villa.
Day 8 - Depart
