A CLASSIC TANZANIA SAFARI

Day 1 Kilimanjaro 

Legendary Lodge is a boutique hotel located just outside Arusha, approximately 90 minutes' drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport. This idyllic property is the perfect place to start your safari holiday, set on a coffee plantation with tranquil gardens in which to relax. The accommodation includes 10 double cottages and two family cottages, perfect for families or small groups of friends.

Day 2 - 3 Tarangire 

Transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Tarangire National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by game drive to Kuro Tarangire, your home for the next two nights. Kuro Tarangire is situated in a grove of kigelia trees (known as sausage trees) and Acacias on the banks of the Tarangire River. The six stylish and light safari tents, are complete with en-suite bucket showers, flushing eco loos and comfortable beds. Daily game drives bring you close to the large herds of elephants for which the park is famed, as well as buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra. Tarangire National Park is also home to various antelope species, including eland, kudu, and oryx and large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah.

Day 4 Drive to Ngorongoro

Take the short light aircraft flight to Manyara Airstrip, next to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and transfer by 4WD to your next camp, Entamanu, set right on the crater rim. The six wooden, chalet-style rooms offer a cosy retreat from the elements that surround the Ngorongoro Crater and are stylishly yet unfussily decorated. Drink in the spectacular views down into this African Eden from the camp and perhaps take a guided nature walk along the crater rim to stretch your legs after the drive. Enjoy drinks and dinner in camp before an early night.

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater

Spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater on a full day game drive. An early start is ideal to reach the crater floor before it becomes busy with other vehicles and enjoy a day of spectacular wildlife viewing in this extraordinary haven. The crater teems with wildlife year-round and you will see a variety of animal life possibly including elephants, zebra, buffalo, lion, leopard and giraffe as well as a variety of antelope species. A picnic lunch will be provided by your safari guide to ensure you make the most of your time on the crater floor.

Day 6 - 8 Fly to Northern Serengeti

This morning, bid farewell to Ngorongoro Crater and head back to Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to northern Serengeti. On arrival, transfer by game drive to Lamai Serengeti, where you will spend the next three days enjoying the game-rich savannah plains of the northern Serengeti. Depending on what time of year you visit, you may witness the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebra as they make the journey from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of fresh grazing, closely pursued by hungry predators. Lamai Serengeti sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakurla Kopje, with panoramic views, just a few miles from the Mara River where gigantic Nile crocodiles lie in wait. The accommodation consists of 12 rooms that are split between two lodges, the main lodge of eight rooms and the smaller private lodge of four rooms. Each room has been specifically designed to blend in with the surrounding scenery and comes equipped with an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, flush loo and powerful shower.

Day 9 Depart

Light Aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro before connecting with your international flight home.
