The first time we visit a new destination we tend to want to see the famous ‘must-sees’ such as the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, Machu Picchu in Peru or the Taj Mahal in India. Impressive as these are, it’s worth taking time to experience a place and not only simply see it. Take a night tour of Saigon on the back of a Vespa, stopping for beers and street food along the way, or follow the Kalahari Bushmen in Botswana as they trap small animals and gather medicinal plants.
Rise at dawn in Luang Prabang in Laos to see the mendicant monks gathering alms in the streets, join the colourful melee of Brazil's Rio Carnival or explore the pyramids of Saqqara and Cairo with a renowned Egyptologist. Whatever experience appeals to you, we have explored all our destinations in detail and work with the best local guides and experts to uncover those more unusual experiences that will make a lasting impression.
