CABINS ON PONANT
Ponant offers six categories of cabins, ultimately dependent on their position within the ship. The décor throughout is beautiful, featuring calming neutrals and sumptuous textures of silk, satin, white leather and marble, with potted orchids by the beds and photographic prints on the walls. All cabins have individually controlled air-conditioning, WiFi, iPod chargers and flat-screen TVs from where you can watch the enrichment lectures if you prefer to stay in your cabin. All polar cruise itineraries offer impressively spacious staterooms and bedroom suites, each with their own balcony so you can wrap up under a blanket and watch the majestic landscape pass by.
DINING
All four ships are equipped with world-renowned gastronomic restaurants, offering outstanding and delicious food bursting with flavour. From al-la-carte to buffet-style dining, as well as 24-hour cabin service, you won't be short of choices.
AMENITIES
The ships all have a beautiful sun deck equipped with an outdoor heated saltwater pool to bath in whilst watching icebergs float gently past. Offering a well-stocked library, where you can curl up and read up on the wonders of the Antarctic, and a spectacular panoramic lounge and terrace – the perfect place to grab a cocktail and watch for marine wildlife.
There are three bars, perfect for relaxing in after a long day, a small boutique and a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment. If you feel like a little pampering, there is hair salon offering full-service hair styling, manicures and pedicures, as well as a spa and hammam. In the unlikely event of requiring a doctor all four ships have a 24-hour medical facility with fully-trained medics.
WHY WE LIKE IT
We love the immense amount of space, where you can sail along with giant whales, and spot polar birds sweeping into the deep blue depths of the sea in pursuit of an elusive meal. A world of its own, the Antarctic offers serenity and peace that is unequalled. The stylish and beautifully designed cabins with their modern touches ensure a voyage to these icy polar waters can be accomplished in style.
