Day 1 Arrive and transfer to Kwando Lagoon

Arrive in Maun and take a scenic flight north over the Okavango Delta, and travel on to your riverside camp. Perched on the banks of a serene river channel in the vast Kwando private concession, this is a place to enjoy perfect isolation and unforgettable wildlife encounters. Few visitors venture as far as these northernmost reaches of Botswana, and the rewards are rich. An abundance of game here draws high densities of predators, so it is not uncommon to glimpse a lion or leopard pausing at the water's edge while you enjoy a gin and tonic on deck.

Day 2 Activities from Kwando Lagoon

Enjoy a full day of safari activities from Kwando Lagoon, setting out on game drives in search of an astonishing array of wildlife. Herds of elephant amble their way through open grassy plains on their way to the river, while unsuspecting warthogs and impalas are stalked by formidable cats such as cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards. During the high-water season of April to September, guided boat trips can also be enjoyed, subject to water levels, offering glimpses of bathing hippos. At sunset, the colours of the sky reflected in the surrounding waters are unforgettable.

Day 3 Overland to Kwando Lebala

An enthralling journey awaits today as you depart Kwando Lagoon and travel south by road to Kwando Lebala. The three-hour journey will be an extended game drive through the Kwando Reserve, following a significant elephant migration route. Extending your time in Kwando with a second camp maximises your chances of seeing packs of wild dogs and other fascinating predators. Arrive at your stilted lodge, which sits directly above the fluctuating swamps that eventually feed into the Linyanti River system. Unwind with a drink or a refreshing dip in the pool, before perhaps heading out on an excursion later this afternoon.

Day 4 Activities from Kwando Lebala

Today your activities will take you deeper into the wildlife-rich surroundings of the Kwando concession with your expert guides and trackers. 'Lebala' translates as 'wide-open plains' in the Setswana language, and this hints at the ease of game viewing to be enjoyed here. Vehicle safaris take you in search of cheetahs, elephants, hyenas and wild dogs, as well intriguing creatures such as aardwolves and secretary birds. Bush walks add another fascinating dimension to your safari experience, allowing you to discover the smaller bush dwellers that are impossible to spot on game drives. Night drives introduce you to more creatures still, such as pangolins (if you are very lucky) and jackals.

Day 5 To the Okavango Delta

This morning you will depart Kwando Lebala after breakfast and take a short flight south to your camp located in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve along a shimmering waterway, the private Kwara Reserve enjoys a remarkable position that encompasses year-round waterways, seasonal floodplains, and far-reaching dry bush wilderness. The camp itself overlooks a wildlife-rich pan, allowing you to combine classic Okavango Delta safari activities with relaxed contemplation of the wildlife right on your doorstep.

Day 6 - 7 Activities from Splash Camp

The next two days are dedicated to safari activities in the Okavango Delta. Embark on thrilling game drives by day and night in search of some of Botswana's most formidable predators such as cheetah, wild dog, leopard, and lion. Motorboat safaris may include seasonal highlights such as visits to nearby heronries, as well as year-round sightings of crocodiles and bathing elephants. Throughout the year, you can also experience the waterways in complete serenity during excursions by mokoro. As evening approaches, gather around the fire pit that overlooks the pan and share tales of the day's adventures.

Day 8 Depart

Depart camp after breakfast and transfer to the airstrip. From here, you will fly to Maun in time for your flight home or onward arrangements.
