Sitting amongst a landscaped oasis of palm-filled gardens, the elegant Chedi resort edges the sparkling Gulf of Oman against the backdrop of the rugged Hajar Mountains. While minimalist and contemporary in design, this beachfront sanctuary is imbued with a feeling of calm and tranquility, and the distinct influences of Arabia and the Far East. These influences are also felt in the resort’s six individual dining venues, which include one of the finest seafood restaurants in Muscat.
Each of the spacious guest rooms is decorated with a soothing colour palette and all are set in the Chedi's beautifully manicured gardens. Club rooms and suites provide access to the Club Lounge, which serves complimentary evening cocktails and afternoon tea. Days can be spent on sun beds or in the shady cabanas dotted around the fabulous gardens and swimming pools, The Chedi Spa is one of the highlights of this hotel. Relax to the rhythm of the surf during an Arabian Sea Wave massage, where the long, healing movements of the massage recreate the feeling of waves washing ashore.
Set in attractive, low-rise white-washed houses, the Chedi’s selection of rooms and suites include classic Serai rooms with distant views to either the mountains or the sea, Deluxe rooms looking out over the palm-filled gardens or Deluxe Club Terrace rooms offering a tranquil and private outdoor space to enjoy the outlook over the water gardens. Chedi Club Suites, which boast a private terrace or balcony, separate living area and expansive bathrooms with sunken marble bathtubs. Expect thoughtful details across all room categories such as Bose Wave sound systems, Nespresso coffee machines and the finest of linens. Those staying in the Club rooms and suites benefit from complimentary limousine transfers, breakfast, lounge access, cocktails and canapés.
Families travelling with one child can be accommodated in the Deluxe Room category and above (or in the Serai rooms for children under the age of six). Those with two children up to the age of 15 can be accommodated in the Chedi Club Suites with their large divans in the living area. One of the resort's swimming pools welcomes families but there is no dedicated children's club or programme at the resort.
