Day 1 Arrive and transfer to Kwando
Arrive in the capital of Maun and take a scenic flight north over the Okavango Delta to your first memorable camp. Tucked beneath towering ebony trees along the shaded banks of the Kwando River, Kwando Lagoon is beautifully positioned within a richly forested enclave. It enjoys exceptional proximity to wildlife, including the seasonal movements of vast herds of elephant and buffalo which pass directly in front of camp.

Day 2 - 3 Activities in the Kwando Reserve
The next two days are dedicated to safari activities in the Kwando Reserve. The abundance of game here draws high densities of predators, with packs of wild dog regularly seen in the vicinity of the camp. Game drives offer opportunities to spot plenty of other predators such as hyena, cheetah, and leopard, as well as elephant and lion. Boat trips can also be offered during the high-water flood season (April to September), subject to water levels, and are particularly memorable at sunset. Back at camp, you may be treated to the spectacle of a leopard or lion lingering on the riverbank while you are enjoying an afternoon drink.

Day 4 To the Okavango Delta
Depart Kwando Lagoon today and take the short flight south to your camp in the Okavango Delta. 4 Rivers is positioned in a privileged location offering exclusive access to the western side of the Kwara Concession, one of the most wildlife-rich havens of the Delta. The camp itself is a beautifully intimate hideaway of just nine tented suites with private decks, looking out to a serene permanent lagoon.

Day 5 - 6 Activities in the Okavango Delta
Enjoy two full days of safari activities in the Okavango Delta. Both land and water-based adventures are on offer at 4 Rivers, playing out across a dynamic and wildlife-rich landscape where floodplains, river channels and open woodland converge. Morning and afternoon game drives traverse lands where lion, cheetah and wild dogs stalk their prey. Guided bush walks reveal the smaller intricacies of the ecosystem, from animal tracks to medicinal plants. Safari walks on Maboa Island offer a further fascinating dimension to your stay. When water levels allow, you will also be able to enjoy mokoro excursions - gliding silently through the channels in traditional dugout canoes.

Day 7 To Nxai Pan
Today you will swap the delta for the desert as you fly southeast to Nxai Pan. Perched on the edge of an enormous fossil pan within the heart of the national park, Kwando Nxai Pan offers an evocative window onto one of Botswana's most striking desert landscapes. The setting is starkly beautiful - sun-bleached plains stretch to the horizon, broken only by ancient baobabs and the occasional movement of springbok or oryx crossing the pan. Your camp's elevated vantage point affords sweeping views of the waterhole, a constant draw for wildlife and an ever-changing scene of desert life unfolding.

Day 8 - 9 Activities in Nxai Pan
Your final days in Botswana are dedicated to adventures in Nxai Pan. Staying in the only permanent camp located within the Nxai Pan National Park, you will be able to enjoy unrivalled access to this ancient salt pan, which was once part of a vast inland lake. Towering baobab trees punctuate the landscape, and a surprising array of wildlife including giraffes, migrating herds of zebras and other desert-adapted species can be seen. Safari drives take you in search of these creatures as well as the pan's most striking and photographic outlooks. Walks with San Bushmen offer an intriguing insight into hunting and tracking methods passed down across generations, as well as the endemic flora and fauna of the region. An excursion to the iconic Baines Baobabs is another highlight, immersing you in Nxai Pan at its most serene and beautiful.
