Day 1 Arrive Nairobi

Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to House of Waine. This family-run, boutique hotel is located in one of Nairobi's quieter districts, making its palm-shaded swimming pool, serene gardens, and 11 rooms and suites all the more peaceful. Enjoy an evening here before embarking on your safari adventure.

Day 2 Nairobi - Laikipia

Your scheduled light aircraft flight today will take you to the unspoilt wilderness of the Laikipia Plateau. The region is home to Ol Malo, a stunning house and lodge perched on an escarpment overlooking the sweeping landscape below. The lodge places its guests right in the heart of the Kenyan bush, making it the ideal base from which to explore. However, there is no shortage of indulgent amenities to return to. These include the inviting infinity pool which overlooks the sprawling valley below, the expansive lawn which provides a blissfully serene yoga venue, and a rooftop perfect for magical evenings beneath the stars. This will be your home for the next three nights.

Day 3 - 4 Laikipia

You'll spend the next couple of days enjoying all the region has to offer. The lodge's exhilarating game drives allow you to journey into the heart of the Laikipia Plateau, while bush walks and riding safaris allow you to explore the plateau at a different pace. The lodge allows you to stop and truly take in the beauty of Laikipia with its refreshing bush sundowners. Though if you really want to stop and take it all in, the lodge's elevated Leopard Hide is perfect for a night in the wilderness and primed for spotting Laikipia's prowling leopard. You may also gain an intriguing insight into life in the wilderness with visits to local villages, where you can meet local villagers or learn the art of beading with Samburu women.

OPTION: Perhaps the most spectacular way to view the region, however, is during a simply remarkable helicopter flight further north over the Suguta Valley to Lake Turkana.

Day 5 Laikipia - Samburu

Today you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Samburu. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Sarara Camp for a three-night stay. From its lofty perch, you'll be able to marvel at the astonishing panoramic views of the 850,000 acres of wilderness surrounding you. The camp has just six rooms, with a spacious communal lounge and a swimming pool overlooking an active watering hole.

Day 6 - 7 Samburu

Over the next two days, venture into the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy with your expert Samburu guide. This is a fantastic opportunity to absorb this much drier and more dramatic landscape while encountering giraffe, elephant, buffalo and one of the tiniest antelopes, the dik-dik. Even more intimate wildlife encounters can be found at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, where you can watch from a respectful distance as young orphaned elephants wallow in mud baths and enjoy feeding times. During the dry season, you may also be privileged to witness an important Samburu tradition, the Singing Wells, when families draw water from beneath the dry river bed to quench the thirst of their cattle, goats and camels.

OPTION: Embrace the wilderness even more fully with a night fly-camping under the stars in a dry riverbed.

Day 8 Samburu - Masai Mara

This morning you will fly to the Masai Mara, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to House in the Wild. Set on the banks of the Mara River in the Northern Mara Conservancies, House in the Wild is made up of seven exclusive cottages, each with a private veranda for soaking up the tranquillity of the surroundings or enjoying a relaxed private dinner under the stars. This will be your home for the next three nights.

Day 9 - 10 Masai Mara

There are few places better to round off your safari experiences than the Masai Mara. Activities are tailored here, meaning you will enjoy private game drives and guided bush walks on an itinerary that suits you. As well as the usual thrilling safari activities, you can try your hand at reeling in a catch while fishing in the Mara River. Additionally, the chance to visit a local rhino sanctuary will undoubtedly inspire you as you learn about the efforts made to protect these gentle giants. Similarly, you can pay a visit to the Mara Training Centre, where you can witness first-hand the incredible contributions made towards wilderness restoration, wildlife protection, and community support.

Day 11 Depart

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi to connect with your onward international flight.
