Inside, each of the elegant bedrooms is decked out with cooling terracotta floors, jewel-toned fabrics, Moroccan objets d’art and Berber textiles, with all but one boasting its own private balcony. Vast living areas with stone fireplaces and comfortable seating areas provide ample entertaining space, and there’s a wonderfully-equipped kitchen where the in-house chef rustles up terrific local cuisine.

Filled with the heady scent of fig, pomegranate and olive trees, the gardens offer endless shady corners for guests to sip mint tea and seek respite from the heat. Beside the large, heated swimming pool, a pool house contains a gym, yoga space, massage room, and hammam. There is also a floodlit tennis court for those looking to burn off a little energy, and keen golfers can practice their swing on the award-winning Assoufid course, just a stone’s throw from the villa.
