Leeu House is located directly on Franschhoek’s charming high street, within easy reach of the delightful town’s array of restaurants, galleries and boutiques. Three properties have been amalgamated into this boutique hotel, which is a fabulous example of Cape Dutch vernacular. Twelve guest rooms and suites are decorated in a soothing palette of creams, with contemporary artworks carefully chosen by the owner. Each room has beautiful mountain or garden views, and some have French doors opening onto their own outdoor terrace.
While there is much to explore in the town and further afield, take time out for a stroll around Leeu House’s gardens or relax by the sublime swimming pool. The Conservatory has an all-day dining menu, starting with delicious a la carte breakfasts inside or on the terrace – try the delicious Eggs Benedict. Afternoon tea is served later in the day, followed by informal evening dining. Also located in the town, and owned by the hotel, is the Marigold restaurant offering mouth-watering North Indian cuisine.
