  1. Arrive
  2. Day 1 Luang Prabang, Laos

Arrive in the UNESCO town of Luang Prabang in Laos. You would be forgiven for thinking you have stepped back in time as the preferred modes of transport are vintage cars, bicycles and tuk-tuks and the pretty tree-lined streets are overlooked by French colonial buildings and temples from a bygone era.

    Overnight: La Residence Phou Vao

  3. Day 2 - 3 Luang Prabang

The most spiritual experience is rising at dawn to witness the orange-clad monks lining the streets during their daily ritual of 'alms giving', where local residents offer sticky rice, mango and the sacred lotus flowers. Architectural highlights include the former Royal Palace and beautiful temples such as Wat Xieng Thong, with an E-bike tour giving you the freedom to roam. Markets are vibrant social events and fascinating insights in to local lives. Mount Phousi provides panoramic views of the town whilst the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre explains the social landscape.

    Overnight: La Residence Phou Vao

  4. Day 4 Siem Reap, Cambodia

Fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia and begin exploring the temples this afternoon. The impressive Preah Khan is the sister temple to Ta Prohm and a great place to start before inspecting the petite yet elaborate fountains of Neak Poan. The royal crematorium at Pre Rup offers great views at sunset.

    Overnight: La Residence d'Angkor

  5. Day 5 - 6 Siem Reap

Your time will be carefully planned to avoid the crowds where possible whilst capturing key images in their best light. Experience Ta Prohm at dawn, climbing through the tree roots which are reclaiming a beautiful temple, made famous by the film Tomb Raider. The elaborate carvings on Banteay Srei are so fine that it is assumed to have been made by women rather than men! Greater context is added with a visit to the excellent Landmine Museum and a cruise through medieval floating villages on the Tonle Sap Lake. Discover the blueprint for Angkor Wat as the vast Beng Melea lies engulfed in the voracious forest. Lasting memories will include a dramatic sunrise over the majestic Angkor Wat and the 216 enigmatic faces of the Bayon, which overlook the immense walled city of Angkor Thom.

    Overnight: La Residence d'Angkor

  6. Day 7 Hanoi, Vietnam

Fly to the atmospheric capital of Vietnam, Hanoi. Met on arrival and privately transferred to your hotel in the heart of this vibrant city.

    Overnight: Sofitel Metropole

  7. Day 8 Hanoi

Images of Ho Chi Minh ('Uncle Ho') are everywhere and a visit to his imposing mausoleum is always fascinating, but especially evocative at sunrise for the pomp and ceremony of the flag raising. The picturesque Temple of Literature was the country's first university and now only teaches the philosophies of Confucianism. A traditional cyclo tour is the best way to explore the colourful narrow streets of the Old Quarter and this is the best place to take in a water puppet show, dating back over 1000 years.

    Overnight: Sofitel Metropole

  8. Day 9 - 10 Halong Bay

Enjoy three days and two nights cruising through the incredible limestone karsts of Halong Bay. Explore caves, swim in the warm waters of a peaceful bay and appreciate the views as your traditional junk glides between the islands.
