Day 1 Arrive in Yogyakarta
Land in Yogyakarta where you will be met and privately transferred inland to your riverside retreat; a journey of approximately 1.5 hours. Your base for the next three days is an utterly serene boutique hotel that provides a real sense of place with its Javanese design features, combined with a riverside infinity pool and tranquil spa.

Day 2 - 3 Cultural Immersion
The next two days are filled with local culture, ancient temples and Royal traditions. Your first day includes a guided cycling tour through the local countryside, exploring the Ijo and Plaosan Temples - ancient gems blending Hindu-Buddhist architecture, followed by a home-hosted lunch in a nearby village.
Your second day starts with breakfast on Dagi Hill overlooking Borobudur Temple, Java's 8th century Buddhist temple. You will also be able to enjoy storytelling and live gamelan music. In the evening, visit the Hindu temple of Prambanan at sunset, and witness a spellbinding performance of the Ramayana Ballet.

Day 4 Fly to Karimunjawa
Jet off to paradise today on a direct flight from Yogyakarta to Karimunjawa (operating Monday, Friday and Sunday). On arrival board the scheduled speedboat for the 40-minute journey to Kura Kura Resort; your home for the next five nights. The balance of the day is free for you to relax by the lagoon or begin exploring the reef.

Day 5 - 8 Island-Hopping and Snorkelling in Karimunjawa
Spend the next four days relaxing in tropical paradise. Activities could include diving, snorkelling and paddle boarding in crystalline waters. You could look for coastal birdlife and rare flora in the mangrove forests, visit a traditional boat-building village, or indulge in a beachfront massage. Take a boat out for a full day's island-hopping with white sand beaches, vibrant coral reefs for world-class snorkelling, strolls along deserted sandbars, and picnic lunches in idyllic tropical settings. Diving trips are available for qualified divers to experience some of Java's best coral sites, and non-divers can visit a local turtle sanctuary and, with luck, release some baby turtles.

Day 9 Fly to Semarang and transfer to the Highlands
Bid farewell to your private island retreat and fly to Semarang on the mainland. Here you will be met and privately transferred to your hotel in the misty highlands of Magelang. Your characterful hotel is set in an area of historic Dutch coffee plantations, with a backdrop of invigorating volcanic landscapes.

Day 10 - 11 Exploring Java's Natural Beauty
Spend two full days discovering the outstanding beauty of Central Java's glorious highlands. Activities on offer include scenic cycling along rural trails to a 10th century Royal Bath, and trekking through rice terraces and bamboo forests at the base of Mount Sumbing in search of a remote temple. Back at the hotel, take advantage of yoga, soothing spa treatments, and fabulous views from the infinity pool.

Day 12 Depart
Your Javanese adventure comes to an end today as you are driven back to Yogyakarta airport in plenty of time for your flight home or onward arrangements.
