Day 2 Discover Bangkok
This morning meet your expert local guide for an exciting introduction to Bangkok, using a variety of transport such as SkyTrains, tuk-tuks and canal boats. This is an innovative approach to urban travel, avoiding traffic and providing a liberating way to explore the city while supporting local businesses. Your private guide can tailor the tour to your interests but typical sights include the Erawan Shrine, the Golden Mount at Wat Saket, Wat Pho and the Reclining Buddha. You will also take a scenic longtail boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River.

Day 3 Bangkok by E-bike
Set out today on an e-biking adventure exploring the maze of small streets and hidden alleyways, away from the bustle of modern Bangkok. Make your way upriver through European heritage neighbourhoods and historic markets to Rattanakosin Island, skirting the Grand Palace and Wat Pho as you go. Hop on a cross-river ferry and visit an historic community in the Thonburi district, which was the capital of Siam prior to Bangkok. Here you can explore a traditional artisan community and a lesser-visited royal temple with fabulous murals. You'll be returned to your hotel at the end of the morning with the rest of the day free for you to further explore at your own pace or relax by the riverside swimming pool.

Day 4 Journey to Nan
Leave the bustle of Bangkok behind today and take a short flight to Nan. You will be met by your Northern Thai host and privately transferred to your hotel where the balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 Nan City Tour & Night Markets
Spend the day exploring the atmospheric town of Nan with your private guide. Begin at Wat Phra That Khao Noi, a hillside temple overlooking the valley where sweeping views across the town and surrounding mountains provide a wonderful sense of place. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxed lunch featuring regional northern Thai dishes, a chance to sample the flavours that define this part of the country.
In the afternoon, visit the Nan National Museum, housed in a former royal residence, where exhibits trace the province's royal lineage, local traditions and diverse ethnic cultures. Within the same grounds sits Wat Noi, often referred to as Thailand's smallest temple. Continue to Wat Phumin, Nan's most distinctive temple. It is best known for its exquisite murals which were painted by Thai Lue artists during the 19th century, including the revered 'Whisper of Love'. As evening approaches, wander into the nearby night market to absorb the food stalls, music, and handmade crafts. You'll then settle in to dinner at a nearby restaurant, sampling more delicious regional dishes.

Day 6 Bo Kluea
This morning, set off from Nan City on a scenic drive north toward Bo Kluea, breaking the journey in Pua, a pretty rural town framed by rice fields and mountains. Wander through its atmospheric temples and craft shops before stopping for lunch in a local restaurant. You'll then visit Ban Ket, a Thai Lue weaving community where skilled artisans follow intricate textile traditions passed down through generations.
Resume your journey along striking mountain roads, pausing for coffee at a breathtaking viewpoint. Arriving in Bo Kluea, explore the ancient salt wells that have sustained the community for centuries, employing traditional methods still in use today. As evening approaches, check into your tranquil rural resort overlooking Bo Kluea Village.

Day 7 Baan Sapan
After breakfast, take a short hike with your guide through the surrounding tropical forest to reach Sapan Waterfall, one of the natural wonders of the region. After ample time to enjoy the waterfall, return to the village to explore Baan Sapan on foot, wandering past traditional wooden homes, small farms and rice terraces. Before heading back, pause at a scenic cafe, taking in panoramic views over the Sapan River and the surrounding hills.

Day 8 Depart
After a final breakfast in Bo Kluea, transfer to Nan over the spectacular Doi Phukha Mountain and National Park. This 2.5-hour drives passes some of the most incredible mountain scenery in Thailand. Your host will drop you off at the airport and assist you with check-in for the short flight to Bangkok.
Option: Extend your journey in Thailand with some blissful R&R on a pristine beach, or continue your northern Thailand exploration in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
