Privately owned by Rory and Caroline Macrae, who have over 30 years’ experience in the hotel barging industry, Après Tout came into their possession in 2011. A converted cargo boat, originally built in 1950, she was transformed into a luxury hotel barge in 2004 and today accommodates up to six passengers in supreme levels of comfort. Rory is your captain and Caroline your Corden Bleu-trained chef, preparing mouth-watering cuisine paired with Premier and Grand Cru wines during your 6-night all-inclusive cruise.
The three spacious cabins feature Emperor size beds which can divide into twins, individually controlled air-conditioning and heating systems, large walk-in showers with heated towel rails and stocked with Nuxe products. Huge picture windows in the salon bring plenty of natural light into the heart of the boat, where facilities include a satellite television, Bose DVD player, CD player and iPod docking station. Two WiFi systems promise good coverage and a Mac desktop computer and printer are available for those who cannot leave work at home.
The pièce de résistance is Après Tout’s sun deck with 360° views and a bubbling hot tub, as well as six deck chairs and a canopied dining area where all meals are served, weather permitting. Six bicycles are on board to enable independent explorations along the towpaths and through local villages.
