Set high above the Amalfi Coast between Amalfi and Positano, Monastero Santa Rosa occupies a former Dominican monastery built in the 17th century. The hotel retains much of its original architecture, including vaulted corridors, thick stone walls and the monastery’s bell tower, while interiors combine antique furnishings with restrained contemporary details. The property has just 20 rooms and suites, each facing the sea and named after herbs once cultivated by the nuns for medicinal use. Gardens descend in terraces through lemon trees, jasmine and roses towards a cliff-edge infinity pool overlooking the Gulf of Salerno.
Il Refettorio, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, focuses on Campanian ingredients and regional seafood, while lighter meals are served beside the pool and on shaded terraces. The spa occupies the monastery’s former vaulted spaces and includes a thermal suite, treatment rooms and products from Santa Maria Novella. Conca dei Marini’s quieter setting places the hotel away from the busiest stretches of the coast while remaining within easy reach of Amalfi, Ravello and Positano.
