Villa Clara is the third magnificent restoration project by an exceptionally dedicated couple who have chosen to renovate and celebrate three exceptional estates across Italy, with no expense spared. For their Roman endeavour they enlisted the assistance of Jacques Garcia, the renowned hotelier, whose inspiration for Villa Clara was to expand on Art Deco themes, the Zodiac and the exuberance of precious stones and jewels. This vision has made Villa Clara a feast for the eyes in every room; panels of amethyst, a gold and mosaic lined dining room, black marble breakfast room and a gold leaf stairwell leading to the magnificent roof terrace are just some of the striking features. As befitting the aesthetic origins of Art Deco, a lower level has been devoted to marble finished Roman baths; a swimming pool, hammam, fitness centre and massage room.
Set in the exclusive Parioli neighbourhood of Rome, the Sebastiani designed, five-level home dates back to 1929 and takes full advantage of its prestigious corner location at the top of the Villa Borghese. Views of Borghese can be enjoyed from the private terrace, and of course from the rooftop terrace which offers an open living / dining area plus Jacuzzi - the perfect spot for a relaxing aperitivo after a day exploring the city.
Descending into the villa once more you can marvel at the owners’ vast collection of art and antiques, complemented by geometric shapes and spaces, zoological themes, dramatic ceiling details and clever twists bringing modern and ancient together in surprisingly effective ways. Your guest experience is one of an exceptionally luxurious home, of course, but also the inspiring atmosphere of a gallery - something almost entirely appropriate for a stay in Italy’s eternal city.
