Interiors draw on Malta’s layered cultural influences, with frescoed ceilings, local antiques, Sicilian marble, Murano glass, hand-crafted ceramics, and richly textured textiles. Due to the historic nature of the building, no one guest room or suite is the same but all have been beautifully styled. Many feature private balconies or terraces overlooking the gardens, as well as design details that have formed part of a longstanding labour of love for the Sharps. In addition to accommodation in the main house, the five bedroom Dower House is ideal for groups, while The Folly Suite is an exquisite self-contained hideaway for two with gated gardens and a private pool.
The hotel itself centres around a series of ornate gardens and outdoor spaces scented with citrus and jasmine. Further venues for your downtime include an outdoor swimming pool and an inviting spa. Casa Bonavita's restaurant is a destination in its own right, but hotel guests are also encouraged to frequent the House Kitchen throughout the day. Here, freshly baked pastries are set out in the morning, followed by no end of treats to tempt you later in the day.
