Set against a backdrop of orange groves and the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, Can Canals sits in a sleepy pocket of Mallorca best-known for its wild, rugged landscape and breathtaking natural scenery. It’s also one of the best-located villas on the island’s west coast; the gorgeous town of Sóller – with its tangle of narrow streets and quaint main square lined with cafes and local boutiques – is just a 10-minute amble away. A short drive further on is the larger and livelier Port de Sóller, a delightful port town where the mountains tumble into the sea and the sweep of beach is popular with locals and holidaymakers alike.
The low-slung, honey-hued stone finca is well set up for multi-generational groups or two families travelling together. There are three double bedrooms in the main house (plus an additional single room accessed via a separate entrance, suitable for a nanny), plus a newly-refurbished annexe that’s ideal for those looking for a little more privacy or space to spread out. The two interconnected ensuite bedrooms have French doors to fling open and let the cooling mountain breeze drift in, as well as lovely views of the lawns. Guests can experiment with local produce in the villa’s rustic farmhouse-style kitchen, and there’s also a cosy TV snug tucked away on a mezzanine level.
