Day 1 Arrival in Zurich
Upon arrival in Zurich today you will be met at the airport and privately transferred to your hotel. The Dolder Grand has been hosting international royalty and Hollywood A-Listers for over 125 years, and retains its traditional charm combined with a modern sheen by Norman Foster. The balance of the day is at leisure for you to recover from your journey or perhaps enjoy a spot of ice skating on the hotel's own seasonal ice rink.

Day 2 Discover festive Zurich
After breakfast this morning you will be met by your private guide to set out on a private tour of Zurich's pretty Aldstadt [old town]. Stroll along cobblestone lanes stretching both sides of the River LImmat, and discover hidden alleyways and picturesque squares, all dressed for the season in stunning displays of twinkling lights. The iconic Christmas decorations of Bahnhofstrasse are also a sight not to be missed. This afternoon you will be free to further explore at your own pace. Meander through the city's German Christmas markets, the perfect place to pick up unique gifts. Be sure to also call by the singing Christmas tree at Werdmuhleplatz, where you'll be treated to daily concerts from a revolving schedule of choirs from around the region.

Day 3 Explore Medieval Lucerne
An enjoyable day trip out of Zurich today takes you to the nearby city of Lucerne. Spend half the day with a private guide, who will showcase the many highlights of this lakefront gem, including its historic Chapel Bridge and picturesque Old Town. This afternoon, enjoy some free time to explore the charming Christmas market at Franziskanerplatz, which is transformed into a miniature town of beautifully decorated timber houses. Return to Zurich by train this evening.

Day 4 Train journey into the Swiss Alps
Bidding farewell to Zurich today you will take a wonderfully scenic journey into the Swiss Alps by Swiss Rail. Your destination is the charming alpine village of Andermatt, which sits in the shadow of the mighty Matterhorn. Your base for the coming days is an indulgent haven of gastronomy, outdoor adventure, wellness, and polished five-star luxury.

Day 5 A day in picturesque Andermatt
Enjoy a full day immersed in the splendours of the Swiss Alps. Snow permitting, you might like to take to the slopes for a day of skiing on the Matterhorn. Alternatively, board the world-famous Glacier Express panoramic train for an unforgettable journey through mesmerising scenery. The journey is also a gastronomic one, as you enjoy world-class cuisine from the train's gourmet restaurant, served to you in your panoramic view seat.

Day 6 Experience the magic of the Swiss Alps
On your second full day in the Swiss Alps you could enjoy some further skiing from the Chedi Andermatt, or journey to nearby Zermatt to take in their glorious Christmas celebrations and decorations. You might also like to board the Gornergrat cog railway, rising over 10,000 ft through a rich terrain of lakes and glaciers and boasting glorious views from the summit.

Check out of the Chedi Andermatt and take the train to Zurich Airport, in plenty of time for your flight home or onward arrangements.
