Broadway is one of the most popular villages in the Cotswolds. Achingly pretty, its main street is lined with honey-stoned houses, antique shops, cafes, pubs and eateries.
Within a ten-minute walk of the village is Broadway House, a beautiful grade II listed family home with origins dating back over 450 years. Sleeping up to 16 guests in the main house, with an additional flat which can be rented for a further 4 guests, the spacious property is filled with character features. Inglenook fireplaces and traditional stone floors provide oodles of country charm. Bedrooms feature a four-poster bed and roll-top bathtub, as well as several pieces gathered from travels in Asia including a traditional Opium bed and hand-painted friezes.
The surrounding gardens are exceptional. A formal garden with neatly clipped box-hedging leads via a wisteria-draped pergola to a parterre and kitchen garden. A Victorian greenhouse and a cut-flower garden, line a pathway through lawns with magnificent summer borders. A small stream (gated) provides a lovely gentle sound, beyond which is a heated swimming pool with changing rooms. A children’s play area with swings and slides is also available.
