Lying at the centre of a 320-hectare vineyard estate in the Valle de Uco, this eco-friendly wine resort has been built to embrace the full impact of the beautiful Andes mountains through its floor to ceiling windows. The striking, contemporary design of the hotel was inspired by the geography of the land and has been constructed from wood, stone, steel and glass.
Seven rooms overlook the vineyard, and Cordon del Plata mountain range, from their huge windows complete with window seat, while six light-filled Laguna Suites feature a spacious private terrace. Most impressive of all are the Villas, nestled among the vines, with their own roof terraces and private hot tubs. The Uco Valley is one of Mendoza’s best kept secrets due to the exceptional fertility of its soil.
The country’s most renowned winemakers have located here making it Argentina’s new hot spot for wines. Days can be spent wandering through the vineyard trails, relaxing by the pool or exploring by horse or bike. The spa includes a hammam as well as deep soaking tubs. Treatments are based on the use of grapes, as well as hydrotherapy using mineral-rich spring water.
While the hotel excels in its wine offering, its cuisine is equally as exquisite. The chefs have adopted a farm-to-table philosophy, using freshly picked fruit, herbs and vegetables from the organic garden to create delicious dishes with a strong influence from the Uco Valley. The sommelier will be on hand to find a perfect match, whether the vineyard’s own deeply fruity El Salvaje Organico Malbec 2016 to accompany a braised pork shoulder, or a tropical fruit laden Blend de Blancs 2017 alongside a creamy risotto. There are also opportunities to experience a traditional Argentine asado (barbecue) over an open fire within the vineyard.
