  1. Arrive
  2. Day 1 Arrival Iguazu Falls

Fly into Iguazu and transfer to the Belmond Das Cataratas, just over the Brazilian border.  Surrounded by tropical forest and perched on the edge of the falls, the hotel claims a very solitary and privileged view over the torrential waters.  The Iguazu Falls is one of the country’s, and indeed planet’s most magnificent sights, ranked alongside Niagara and Victoria Falls.  Truly unique in their structure, a huge volume of water cascades over a chain of 300 individual waterfalls nearly 3km wide.

    Overnight: Belmond Das Cataratas

  3. Day 2 Iguazu Falls

Passport at the ready, cross the border into Argentina to explore the other side of the falls. Wander along the lower and upper trails along the river surrounded by butterflies and walk the 1km walkway bridge to the famous Devils Throat, looking out for toucans and cheeky black-capped capuchin monkeys.  Hold on tight as you stare into the gorge, where the ferocious water disappears beneath you.

    Overnight: Belmond Das Cataratas

  4. Day 3 Iguazu to Ibera Wetlands

Head south west to the Ibera Wetlands, a protected area of swamps, marshes and lagoons where you’ll find caiman, capybara and howler monkeys. Relax on the banks of the Paraná River, in the supreme comfort of the exclusive six-room Posada Puerto Valle.

    Overnight: Posada Puerto Valle

  5. Day 4 - 5 Ibera Wetlands

Enjoy the next two days exploring the wetlands. The seemingly constant veil of melodic birdsong, alongside the vast variety of trees punctuating endless open space, help create an idyllic environment in which to explore. Activities include visits to the Caiman Conservation Farm, the arboretum, the monkey path as well as canoeing along the Paraná River.  Surrounded by tracks, trails and hills, the Posada Puerto Valle is also ideally placed for getting out and about on horseback or mountain bike.

    Overnight: Posada Puerto Valle

  6. Day 6 Ibera Wetlands to Buenos Aires

Fly to the country’s capital, Buenos Aires, arguably one of the world’s greatest urban experiences.  Faded European grandeur, primarily influenced by the French and Italian, unites with colonial architecture, wide boulevards and leafy parks, an extravagant art scene and effervescent Latin American spirit.

    Overnight: Sofitel Buenos Aires

  7. Day 7 Buenos Aires

Spend a day in the city, exploring this cosmopolitan heavy-weight.  In the city’s heart, the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately colonial buildings and famed for Eva Peron’s iconic balcony entrance, is highly recommended.  Learn more about the history of this fascinating city as you continue to the lively yet laid-back neighbourhood of La Boca, to enjoy the colourful street art and roadside Tango dancing.

    Overnight: Sofitel Buenos Aires

  8. Day 8 Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn

Fly south to Trelew in the heart of the Peninsula Valdes and to your home for the next three nights, Hotel Territorio.  Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the sublime views towards the peninsula and ocean beyond.

    Overnight: Hotel Territorio

  9. Day 9 - 10 Puerto Madryn, Valdes Peninsula

Enjoy two full days exploring the plethora of wildlife on the peninsula. You’ll come across hairy armadillos, South American sea lions, elephant seals and magellanic penguins.  From June to mid-December, the southern right whales take centre stage.  During the migration these majestic beauties come so close they can be seen from the shore, faithfully followed by the cormorants foraging for food in the whale’s wake.

    Overnight: Hotel Territorio
