Day 1 Arrive in San Jose and transfer to the cloud forest

Day 2 Activities from El Silencio Lodge
On your first morning in the cloud forest you may wish to set out on a short, guided walk to Las Gemelas, a striking waterfall renowned for its vivid turquoise hue. The colour comes from volcanic minerals in the water, which catch the light at certain times to create an iridescent glow. Later, you may wish to unwind in the spa before savouring dinner at the lodge's Michelin-acclaimed restaurant.

Day 3 Scenic flight to the Osa Peninsula
This morning, transfer back to San Jose to take a spectacular flight south to Puerto Jimenez in the Osa Peninsula. This wild and beautiful corner of Costa Rica is blanketed by tropical rainforest, and is one of the best places in the country for spotting mammals and birds. On arrival you will be met and driven to Lapa Rios lodge which lies in a 1,000-acre rainforest reserve and is one of the finest wildlife lodges in Costa Rica. Tonight, fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle from your stylish bungalow perched in the canopy level of the rainforest.

Day 4 Activities from Lapa Rios
At Lapa Rios there is an enormous choice of rainforest activities to choose from, operated on a small group basis and designed to maximise your time in this spectacular region. Hike through the jungle in search of myriad mammals and tropical birds, follow the medicine trail or trace a path to a pristine hidden waterfall. Adventures on the water include whale and dolphin watching tours, surfing, and paddle boarding. At dusk, venture back into the rainforest to search for the creatures which emerge after dark such as colourful tree frogs, giant anteaters and tapir.

Day 5 Hiking in the Corcovado National Park
Today you will have the opportunity to set out on a full-day excursion into the Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica's jewel in the crown for biodiversity. Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide, discover some of the array of tree, plant, bird, and mammal species to be found here. Highlights may include the sight of screeching scarlet macaws soaring above the forest canopy or glimpsing all four species of monkey that make their home here.

Day 6 Travel to your private island hideaway in Panama
Leave the Osa Peninsula behind and travel south to the border where you will be assisted with the border crossing into Panama. Continue by boat across the Gulf of Chiriquí to reach Islas Secas, a sustainable luxury private island hideaway set within the remote Eastern Tropical Pacific. The glorious setting of Islas Secas in the Chiriquí Gulf is characterised by utterly unspoilt beaches, jungle-fringed islets, and one of the richest marine environments on earth.

Day 7 - 8 Activities and relaxation at Islas Secas
Enjoy two full days to bask in the blissful surroundings of your private island resort in Panama. Here you can swim, snorkel, or go paddle boarding in the sparkling waters of the Chiriquí Gulf. Island hopping adventures bring opportunities to spot dolphins or to castaway to a deserted sandbank for a gourmet picnic. Day 9 Panama City and the Panama Canal
Depart Islas Secas on a shared charter flight to the mainland and transfer privately to your hotel located in Panama City's atmospheric old town. This afternoon, enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at the Panama Canal, accessing a private platform at the Miraflores Locks for close views of transiting ships. You will then be driven back to the Casco Antiguo for a private tour, where your local guide will help you uncover the history and stories behind the colonial buildings and cobbled streets.
