The garden gate at Villa Isabelle pushes through the soft sand onto the bay of Arcachon. On the water, sail boats and fishing tugs ply the gentle waves, as if auditioning for a George Seurat painting: leisure and industry combining in oblivious harmony. Within a bike-ride of the shops and cafés of Cap Ferret is Villa Isabelle. Traditional 20th century architecture combines with immaculate beach-house interiors to produce a perfect example of contemporary Cap Ferret style. Stylish accommodation is divided between the main house and an adjacent guest cottage, with three comfortable and sprightly-decorated bedrooms in each. The main house also provides the communal living areas, including a fully-equipped open plan kitchen which leads imperceptively onto the surrounded decked dining terraces, overlooking the tidal waters of the bay.
A barbeque and table tennis are provided at the villa and on the bay, sailing, surfing and boat charter are all available. Bike hire and tennis can be found close by. Cap Ferret, with shops and excellent restaurants is 2km away, and a ferry boat in the harbour runs regularly to Arcachon and along the coast. Bordeaux, with airport and TGV station is 66km away, and world-class vineyards including Graves, Sauternes and St Emilion are all within easy reach.
A non-resident house manager/cook provides breakfast and either lunch or dinner meals in High and Peak season (cost of ingredients extra).
